COVID-19 Pandemic – “Together, we can”

Covid-19 has taken so many lives till now. How many more will be determined by the decisions we make and actions we take now. Many countries have asked people to stay at home #stayhome #staysafe. The schools, businesses, events have also been closed. These measures i.e. asking people to stay at home and shutting down population movement will reduce the pressure on health systems, but these will not extinguish pandemics on their own. The point is to en

able more precise and targeted measures that are needed to stop transmission and save lives.

These so-called lockdown measures have created a window of opportunity. The countries need to expand healthcare workforce, equip facilities to treat and isolate patients, implement system to find every suspected case at community level. Aggressive measures to fight, isolate, test and trace are not only the best and fastest way out of extreme social and economic restrictions, but also to prevent community transmission and avoid some of the more severe and economic cost in other countries.

One more thing we need to keep in mind that physical distance doesn’t mean social distance. We all need to check in regularly on older people, patients, neighbors who live alone or in care home. So, they know how much they are loved and valued.
